Behold, children are the heritage of the Lord
Hello there everyone! Happy Wednesday! I feel like I am writing one blog a day to share with you.
I made this print, available if you click the above link, you can purchase your own copy of the print.
One of the reasons I paint pictures of children is to support the pro-life movement and to encourage people to not abort their babies and support adoption. I want to show children fully formed to help people not be afraid of having children and having families. Part of me thinks if I can paint enough children, maybe someone will see a picture of a child and think twice about aborting their child, and maybe save a life. I do not know, it is just something I think about.
If you are struggling with the consequences of abortion, there is forgiveness at the foot of the cross in Jesus Christ. Lutherans For Life helps women who are struggling with the aftermath of abortion. Link is here https://lutheransforlife.org. Pastors are also good to talk to to receive confession and absolution and communion for the forgiveness of sins.
On the flip side I know that many families desire children, and are not able to have them, and that is really painful too. I also know many young women and men who desire to get married and have children and have not been able to yet. So please do not think I am pressuring or guilt tripping those of you who are waiting for those gifts. Issues of children and family are sensitive issues and need to be handled with compassion. Our culture pressures us to not have children and sometimes people in the church put a lot of pressure on young people to get married and to have children. Neither one of these attitudes is good, as our Lord desires us to be content in His death and resurrection and our baptismal grace. Regardless of where you are at, I am here to support you!
One of the things that brought my fiancé and myself together was how we agreed that God loves babies. He is a physical therapist and sees the human body, face, bones, skin, ligaments, and muscles in terms of God's design and their function! The fact that God made us in His image is truly miraculous and all the parts of our body work together to support this body and life and to serve our neighbors!
My thoughts in creating the print that states children are a blessings is that even though children may be difficult sometimes, I wanted to encourage families to remember that children are a blessing nonetheless.
God bless you and keep you this day and every day!
Much Love 💞
Kelly
